Yin yoga

Healing sound or mantra

Meditation

Wondering what to get Dad this year ?

Got you covered here ! What about a truly amazing experience together at our Nurture and Restore with Lucy, Father Day Edition .

This session is especially curated for the fellas and a nice introduction for the guys to turn into the body. Plus a really nice experience to do together.

There will be a little qigong to start (movement) and we will focus on the qigong featured in Martial Arts. Then roll out some of that tension with therapy balls, finishing up with some Yin ; longer held stretches. This will no doubt leave Dad feeling relaxed, stretched and mind at ease.

Although it is a Dads day, the session is not limited to Dads and is open to all students.

In a life that is fast paced with little time to process or release the build up of stress and tension, we can use this afternoon as a little portal of refuge. The roles and responsibilities we can leave at the door.

Each student will be given their ball to keep along with the knowledge of use.

Reiki … What is it ?

The Japanese word Reiki, translates to mean Universal Life Energy, Universal Life Force. Reiki is a simple, natural, healing technique that utilises the Universal Life Force to improve health and well being and enhance quality of life.

A knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things and is connected directly to the quality of health, and has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times.

What can Reiki do ?

Reiki accelerates the bodies ability to heal physical ailments and opens the mind to the causes of disease and pain, the necessity for taking responsibility for one’s life and the joys of balanced health. It can also ease tension and anxiety, raise the general level of energy and feeling of well-being, and promote positive personal growth.

How does Reiki Work ?

The Reiki Practitioner ‘tunes in’, so to speak, to the Universal energies that continually surround us, and through placing their hands in a series of passive positions over the body in which major organs and energy centres are covered, the recipient is able to draw upon and utilise this energy to address their needs on all levels.

What does Reiki Feel like ?

The sensations that are often felt when receiving Reiki will be unique and individual to each of us. Generally you will experience a wonderful sensation of warmth that flows through you and surrounds you. Reiki has no harmful side effects and can be chosen with confidence as a beneficial healing discipline.

The focus of this workshop is to bring you into an awareness and understanding of this beautiful Universal energy and to share with you the many and varied ways to utilise Reiki in your life.

The objective is to discover ways in which you can personally clear your ‘vessel’ and become a clear and open channel for the Universal Life Force Energy to flow through you.

A little about your teachers…

Reiki Master and Healer ,Larry Turnley discovered Reiki in 1991. His first experience leading him into what happened to be his first discovery into self-acceptance and Self love.

With almost 30 years of knowledge and a dedicated Practitioner to the art of Reiki, Larry has witnessed first hand the amazing benefits in people’s lives. Running workshops and Share nights, private healings and consultations , Larry continues to develop his own personal growth and importance of a regular Reiki healing.

Attending regular yoga classes can sometimes be daunting, especially if your a newbie, so I’ve designed this course to put you at ease.

The emphasis is on safely stretching, strengthening and relaxing through a series of movements, breathing and relaxation techniques.  You'll also learn a brief theory behind the practice so you gain an understanding of the principles and philosophies of yoga.

 This gentle, introductory yoga course is designed for:

  • absolute beginners;

  • those returning to the practice and wanting to refresh;

  • people with conditions which may prevent them joining regular classes;

  • anyone who feels unconfident about being in a group class or new environment;

  • anyone wanting an understanding of the fundamental and underlying principles of yoga;

  • anyone simply wanting a respectful class at a gentle, introductory level;

The course sets the foundational approach to yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breath) and is suitable for people of all ages , life stages and ALL bodies.

Each week builds on the week before, arriving at a stage where you can feel confident moving into regular Yoga classes or a home practice. ​

What you will learn

  • calming and strengthening yoga poses (dynamic stretching/movement);

  • basic  Pranayama (yoga breathing methods);

  • how to calm your mind and relax your body;

  • how to move safely and confidently through a basic yoga sequence;

  • what’s happening in the body when we make these shapes;

A little about your teacher

Di Johnston, the founder and owner of Think.focus.act Yoga Studio is a Qualified Yoga Teacher having over 400 hr Teacher training hours to her accreditation. Di also teaches regular Gentle and restorative Yoga classes, designed for the beginner. A gentle working through postures and breath, a slow paced class with guidance to safe alignment and foundation for a great practice. Her caring approach holds the perfect opportunity for the novel Yogi to embark into their Yoga journey or coming back from injury. Her passion to encourage Seniors into safe movement classes is also one of the reasons her classes are so popular.

Her desire to be of service to people started in 2003 when she began her Advance Diploma as a personal Counsellor with the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors. Helping people transition through their challenges became a passion and she invested more of her time delving into other modalities that suited more people on a holistic level.

Completing her studies in Hypnotherapy with The Tad James Company in 2013, she now combines a blend of Counselling and Hypnotherapy in her specialised sessions.

Cost of Course $90 and will run over 4 consecutive Monday evenings for Oct 5 - Oct 26. Class will begin at 7.30pm and conclude at 8.45pm.

Class is delivered via zoom and students will need a device with zoom installed to attend each week. The class link will be sent to you via email once payment for attendance is confirmed. Students will be able to attend with or without video presence on their end.
