Attending regular yoga classes can sometimes be daunting, especially if your a newbie, so I’ve designed this course to put you at ease.
The emphasis is on safely stretching, strengthening and relaxing through a series of movements, breathing and relaxation techniques. You'll also learn a brief theory behind the practice so you gain an understanding of the principles and philosophies of yoga.
This gentle, introductory yoga course is designed for:
absolute beginners;
those returning to the practice and wanting to refresh;
people with conditions which may prevent them joining regular classes;
anyone who feels unconfident about being in a group class or new environment;
anyone wanting an understanding of the fundamental and underlying principles of yoga;
anyone simply wanting a respectful class at a gentle, introductory level;
The course sets the foundational approach to yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breath) and is suitable for people of all ages , life stages and ALL bodies.
Each week builds on the week before, arriving at a stage where you can feel confident moving into regular Yoga classes or a home practice.

how to calm your mind and relax your body;
how to move safely and confidently through a basic yoga sequence;

A little about your teacher
Di Johnston, the founder and owner of Think.focus.act Yoga Studio is a Qualified Yoga Teacher having over 400 hr Teacher training hours to her accreditation. Di also teaches regular Gentle and restorative Yoga classes, designed for the beginner. A gentle working through postures and breath, a slow paced class with guidance to safe alignment and foundation for a great practice. Her caring approach holds the perfect opportunity for the novel Yogi to embark into their Yoga journey or coming back from injury. Her passion to encourage Seniors into safe movement classes is also one of the reasons her classes are so popular.
Her desire to be of service to people started in 2003 when she began her Advance Diploma as a personal Counsellor with the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors. Helping people transition through their challenges became a passion and she invested more of her time delving into other modalities that suited more people on a holistic level.
Completing her studies in Hypnotherapy with The Tad James Company in 2013, she now combines a blend of Counselling and Hypnotherapy in her specialised sessions.
Cost of Course $90 and will run over 4 consecutive Monday evenings for Oct 5 - Oct 26. Class will begin at 7.30pm and conclude at 8.45pm.
Class is delivered via zoom and students will need a device with zoom installed to attend each week. The class link will be sent to you via email once payment for attendance is confirmed. Students will be able to attend with or without video presence on their end.
